Paolo Emilio Sfriso, professional photographer, has dedicated himself for more than ten years to the photography of events and exhibitions regarding art and contemporary architecture.
Since the beginning of the nineties he has approached contemporary artistic reality by attending exibitions, taking photographs of artists, critics, famous personalities and works from the art and architectural world, with a new outlook.
His rich archives contain an interesting documentation of the Art and Architecture Biennali of Venice from the last ten years.
In 1989 he won first prize in the Kodak competition “The seasons of the portrait”.
In 1993 he published the photographic book “Cortona, images and places”.
In 2000 he held an exhibition called “centoimmagini ” (a hundred images) in Cortona, under the guidance of Marco Scotini. Here he presented a selection of photographs concerning events and people from the world of art.
In 2001 he held an exhibition called “The new decoration of contemporary Architecture: the constructive details -Cargo City 2000” (Project Studio Arnaboldi & Partners) in the Hoepli bookshop in Milan.
In the following years he made a detailed photographic documentation of the artistic work of the town of Peccioli. Wich was published in the book "Rapporto confidenziale".
For the past few years he has been photographing the events of the Contemporary Art Centre of Siena “Le Papesse”. In 2003 his photographs were used for the catalogue: “Il Palazzo delle Libertà”.
In 2005 he held an exhibition called “Presenze in Biennale - Immagini di Paolo Emilio Sfriso" in Venice.
His work involves the photographic documentation of works by contemporary artists and the occasional collaborations with art and architecture magazines.
